Got the basic benchwork in today.  I'm no carpenter and it shows but, it's not the first time that I've built it this way and it always seems to work out I the end.  Headed out to buy foam board tomorrow morning.

I have a bad knee and a couple broken ribs that wont heal so after 4 hours on the lawnmower, this is what I did today:

But, the walls are bare and there is a pile of white pine and Micro Engineering track and turnouts just waiting for my attention over the next few days.

A few pics of some of my locos and rolling stock.  Still lots of weathering, renumbering, and details to do.  All of my locomotives are equipped with DCC with tsunami sound.  I have been using NCE for my DCC for years and will be upgrading it to wireless cabs with this layout.

If anyone has a few of the Atlas GP38s in the tri-color paint that you would be willing to sell, drop me a message at hobbezeq@gmail.com.

40x15 bay with a garage door on each end.  600 sq. feet of mess to empty, clean up and put up walls and a ceiling.

Just an upload of my track plan.  It's an around the walls plan in HO with a 2ft shelf width.  I am also building a 3x25 N scale layout just to be able to run the BAR equipment that I have collected in that scale over the years.  It might change a little, but I think that I am satisfied with it.

In the begining

This site will follow along as I build a new HO scale layout based on the Bangor and Aroostook in the 1980's.  If it has a pine tree logo, it has a has a home on this new layout.  As of this post, I have a 15'x40' unfinished room attached to my new home in which to finally build the large layout that I have always wanted.  It will be loosely based on the BAR from Brownville Jct. to Derby but, will also include bits from Searsport, Millinocket, and the old Dover-Foxcroft branch.  I lean towards running trains, with an eye towards operation.  I intend to extensively use modeler's license as I am much more interested in fun than counting rivets.
