Here are a few pictures of recent scenery progress on my On30 module.

Scenery!

The track is all down and operational.  I ran a few op sessions to make sure everything runs smoothly so, I finally moved onto scenery for the On30 module.

Lots more static grass and trees to go, but a good start.

A bit of On30

I have been building a few 18' cars for the On30 module in my spare time.  Here are a few pics of the second reefer, second pulpwood rack and the caboose.

And some ballast finally!

More On30 module progress

The potato house is almost done, but I ran out of material for shingles.  Have to wait for more to arrive in a few days

Continuing to expand the 18' car fleet with another reefer.  This one isn't quite finished yet, but its looking good.

The Bachmann cabooses all just seem a bit too big, so I am replacing them with smaller kit built cabooses like this one.  Just need decals and a bit more weathering for it to be finished.

Scenery work

The 3 bridges are in and I started the landforms.

This will be a shallow stream with a short waterfall at the back right where the notch can be seen in the picture.

July 8th

A few more pics of our Norwegian Daffodils.  And my thumb... /sigh

And a few more random shots from Sarah's wildflower garden.

18' reefer kit

I have been working on this Mount Blue Model 18' reefer kit.  It's a really nice kit that has gone together very smoothly.  I am really impressed with Mount Blue Model Co. and have already made another order for a few more 18' cars.

I am really happy with how it is coming out, though the HO trucks that I tried sitting them on just didn't look right, so it will have to wait for a set of Bachmann or Grandt Line trucks before hitting the modules.

I also starting carving out the areas for the stream and drainage ditches, as well as started work on setting in the bridges.

18' pulwood rack

I have become quite partial to shorty cars while building the On30 modules.  In surfing around to find more cars for the fleet, I found a company that I had not heard of before, Mount Blue Model Co.  They have several kits that are perfect for what I want, are priced really well, and no too far away from me.

This kit adapts a Bachman 18' flat car into an awesome shorty pulpwood car.  The kit did not come with a load but, I filled this one with short cut and split wood meant for the North Atkinson Paper's locomotives.  There is almost 1000 pieces of hand split wood in this car!

I have to say, these Mount Blue kits are really nice.  I am super happy with how this car turned out.  I also purchased an 18' reefer kit that I started to assemble this evening.  Pics of that tomorrow.

Maybe I'll get to that ballast soon too  =p
